Luz Angelica Salinas, PhD

Licensed Psychologist

I completed my doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas and I am licensed as a psychologist in the state of Minnesota. I have focused my training and career on working with individuals who have experienced developmental, cumulative, and generational/historical trauma.

When working with clients I use a strengths-based approach and pull from attachment and trauma informed practices. Difficult experiences in life can impact the way we understand ourselves, others, and the world. I help clients become curious about their responses to traumatic experiences, attachment ruptures, unmet needs, and other life events. This curiosity can lead to better understanding of how these responses are helpful at times and maybe get in our way at other times.

Throughout my training and career, I have worked with individuals ages 4-82 with diverse identities, experiences, and presenting concerns. I have experience working with individuals with concerns related to sexual behaviors, relationship difficulties, shame, trauma and a wide range of diagnoses. I also have experience working with adoptees, birth mothers, and adoptive parents.
